  • Anita Curry, Co-Founder

    Anita has dedicated the past three years to large-scale agriculture projects in Africa, specializing in the cultivation of outdoor-grown medicinal and recreational cannabis. Her career, however, spans a broad spectrum of expertise, including the development of procurement platforms in the shipping and oil industries and pioneering secure corporate social networks for the banking sector. As a Global Director of Sales in shipping procurement and Internet Technology Solutions, Anita honed her skills in creating strategic partnerships, driving sales and marketing efforts, fostering team development, and overseeing technical execution. Her multifaceted experience not only demonstrates her versatility and innovative approach to problem-solving but also underscores her ability to navigate and lead in complex and evolving market landscapes.

  • Paul Sharman, CFO

    Paul has dedicated the last 30 years to mastering the intricacies of finance and performance management across a wide array of roles, including consultant, organizational leader, educator, public servant, speaker, and author. His expertise extends into public service as a councilor for the City of Burlington and the Region of Halton, where he applies his knowledge to benefit local governance. Recognized for his strategic acumen, Paul's approach is anchored in the principles of precise measurement and management practices. His contributions to the field were acknowledged when he was named one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People” in the US accounting world in 2005, 2006, and 2007 by “Accounting Today.” At CO2 Evolve, Paul plays a pivotal role in financial planning, analysis, and controllership, along with strategy development, performance enhancement, cost management, and organizational restructuring, showcasing his vast expertise and commitment to fostering financial excellence and organizational growth.

  • Dr. Andre Malan, Director & Agronomist

    Dr. Andre Malan is a distinguished figure in South African agriculture, with an impressive career spanning over 30 years and holding multiple PhDs. His academic journey began with a BSc degree in Genetics and Microbiology in 1989, followed by a BSc Honours in Plant Breeding and Cyto-taxonomy in 1990, and an MSc in Cyto-taxonomy in 1992. His PhD, obtained in 2003, involved a comprehensive phylogenetic study of three Fynbos Biome grass genera encompassing nine species. Since starting his career at the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) of South Africa in 1992, Dr. Malan has played a pivotal role in agricultural development, traveling extensively across South Africa and Zambia to deliver over 20 talks annually, contributing significantly to the establishment of new markets and the advancement of agricultural research and innovation

His extensive experience spans strategic planning for banks, managing mergers, and restructuring debts across a variety of sectors such as agriculture, government, financial services, media, mining, and telecommunications. Notable achievements include establishing Johannesburg's first Futures Exchange, steering projects for leading financial institutions, and occupying senior leadership positions in multinational corporations. Sarel's diverse industry success showcases his versatile skill set and strategic acumen in business management.

  • Brogan Geldenhuys

    Project & Supply Chain Management: Brogan is the Director of Eco Thunder, a key player in the energy generation field, providing expert technical guidance on projects. Her experience spans project management at Sasol in Sasolburg and Secunda, with a focus on Visual and Social Impact Assessments, strategic planning, and environmental management. A seasoned manager of large engineering projects and supply chains, she holds an Engineering degree and is registered with IAIAsa, IAP2, and GISSA. Brogan's impressive client list includes DisChem, Checkers, and Sasol, showcasing her broad impact and expertise in the sector.ol

  • Dave Mcelwee

    Energy and Refining Expert: Dave brings a wealth of experience in petrochemical and environmental management, having worked with notable companies like Cremark Chemicals, Shell Chemicals, and Sasol in various capacities, including bulk liquid chemical exports and industrial fuels marketing. With nine years as the refinery manager for FFS Refining, one of South Africa's premier waste product refiners, Dave has led significant projects such as the Sappi Saiccor and Anglo Platinum Rustenburg mine expansions, as well as developing an emission inventory for King Shaka International Airport in Durban. Currently, his focus is on harnessing energy from waste streams, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation in energy management.

  • Geoffrey Purnell

    Engineer: With 42 years of expertise in the energy, mining, waste, and engineering sectors across South and Southern Africa, our specialist is an accomplished environmental and civil engineer. A Professional Engineer registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa, they hold a BSc in Civil Engineering and a B.Eng (Hons) in Water Utilization. Since 2011, they've been a lecturer at the University of KwaZulu Natal, focusing on waste management and civil engineering. Their notable work includes the modelling of emissions from petrochemical tanks, underscoring their dedication to environmental sustainability.
